As a non-profit organization, Chrysalis is governed by two different Boards of Directors, Society and its Charitable Foundation, both comprised of volunteer members located throughout the Province. Through their involvement, Chrysalis ensures that our services are meeting the needs of the community and responding to changes within the sector.
The Chrysalis Society Board of Directors governs the decisions that are made on a daily basis within our organization. Everything from intake process, expansion of programs and service and the development and growth of our business units are under the guidance of the Chrysalis Society Board. The Chrysalis Society Board has also spawned several side committees to ensure Chrysalis is providing the best possible services to staff, business partners, individuals and their families. A Business Development Committee, Program Development Committee and the Strategic Planning & External Relations (SPER) Committee have all been established and chaired by different Chrysalis Society Board Members. The Chrysalis Charitable Foundation Board is directed towards strengthening the funding options that Chrysalis is involved in to raise money for the organization outside of government contracts. The Chrysalis Charitable Foundation Board oversees the different fundraising initiatives that are held throughout the year including casinos, the now former Western Mardi Gras and the recent introduction of the Spirit of Chrysalis fundraising model. The Chrysalis Charitable Foundation Board Members are very involved with promoting the Spirit of Chrysalis by inviting guests to the information sessions, recruiting table hosts for the Annual Gala Breakfast and, in some cases, joining the Star Donor list as a multi-year donor which is advertised during the Annual Gala Breakfast. Aside from trying to attract donors and ensure Chrysalis is maintaining a level of funding necessary to strengthen the programs and services we offer, the Chrysalis Charitable Foundation Board is very active in building strong relationships with those who come to our organization through the Spirit of Chrysalis which includes planning the Annual Chrysalis Donor Appreciation Event held each year to show what a difference all our donors and supports have made to lives of our individuals.
