LIFE MANAGEMENT SKILLS

What is the course about?
The Life Management Skills course will help you to work through different problems. The course runs for five or six weeks for four hours a day, five days a week.

Life Management teaches you about life and how to handle stress. You will learn about things like: Self, Family, Community, Job, Education and Free Time. You will learn to feel good about yourself, how to talk with others, and how to work through hard situations.

Some course topics include how to:
Face your fears
Feel good about yourself
Speak up for yourself
Control your anger
Deal with stress
Identify helpful and harmful behaviors
Give and receive feedback
Build self-esteem
Communicate
Meet new people
Spend your free time
Identify what is important to you
Set Goals

Relationship and Sexuality Course:
This course runs for two weeks at five days a week. This course helps individuals to have healthy relationships.

Topics covered during the two weeks include:
Basic steps for dating
Shyness
Making friendships
Safety (street/relationship safety)
Healthy/unhealthy relationships
STDs (sexually transmitted diseases)
Boundaries


What happens when I finish a course?
When you complete the course, Chrysalis presents you with a certificate.
There is a support group that meets twice a month for two hours.
You can bring any questions or problems that you may have to the support group if you choose to attend.

What is talked about in the course will not be shared unless you give the okay to do so.
